Memmert Peltier Cooled Incubator IPP2200eco, 2,140 l, 0 to +70 °C, SingleDISPLAY

At 2,140 litres, the Memmert Peltier Cooled Incubator IPP2200eco is the largest model in the IPP-eco series. The triple-leaf door gives access to six standard shelves, expandable to up to 42. Heating and cooling in the setting temperature range of 0 to +70 °C is provided by a Peltier element integrated in the rear wall, without a compressor and without refrigerant, controlled via the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY.

Triple-leaf door, 2,140 litres chamber volume

The stainless steel doors with glass cut-out are of triple-leaf design and, as in the IPP1400eco, have fully heated inner glass panes fitted into full-view glass doors with 2-point locking (compression lock). Six electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are fitted as standard, and the interior carries a total of 330 kilograms at a maximum of 30 kilograms per shelf, whereas the IPP1400eco manages 250 kilograms. At 473 kilograms net weight and 2,140 litres of interior volume, the unit can still be moved on castors and locked in place, even though it needs considerably more floor space than its smaller siblings.

Control, sensors and operational safety

A Pt100 sensor of DIN class A measures in 4-wire technology with 0.1 °C setting accuracy, and SetpointWAIT starts the process time only when the set temperature has been reached. An electronic temperature monitor and the mechanical temperature limiter TB provide additional protection, a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding, and the data logger records even in the event of a power failure and can be read out via Ethernet. A lockable door with several locks is available as an option. In addition to CE, the unit also carries the EAC marking, and it is connected to 230 volts.

When the IPP2200eco is suitable

The IPP2200eco offers a good double the volume of the IPP1060eco (1,060 litres) and a good 57 per cent more volume than the IPP1400eco (1,360 litres), with an external width of 2,157 mm. If 1,360 litres and a double-leaf door are sufficient, the IPP1400eco is better suited, as it is 722 mm narrower. The IPP2200eco is connected to 230 V, 50/60 Hz, at approx. 1,900 W, and the smaller models IPP410eco to IPP1400eco are also available for 115 V.

Typical applications

As the largest model in the series, the IPP2200eco covers the core applications for large sample quantities:

• Microbiological examinations and germ count determination with a very high sample volume
• Cultivation of samples above and below room temperature on a large scale
• Forced ageing tests for beer stability
• Shelf-life tests of dairy products with many parallel batches
