The RV 10 auto V Starter Solution is the only complete package in the RV 10 range: the drive unit, heating bath, vacuum pump and recirculating cooler are all included, meaning that no additional peripheral equipment needs to be purchased separately for operation. Anyone purchasing a rotary evaporator for the first time or setting up a second station without existing infrastructure is thus spared the task of selecting and matching a pump and cooler to the drive. The RV 10.1 vertical glassware set is also included in the package. Unlike when purchasing items individually, the drive unit, pump and cooler are supplied as a single order item with a single identification number.

Vacuum pump and recirculating cooler already matched to each other

The supplied VACSTAR lite vacuum pump achieves a flow rate of 1.0 m³/h or 16.7 l/min and a ultimate pressure of 9 mbar; it is compact enough to fit next to the drive. The RC 2 lite recirculating cooler cools down to minus 10 degrees Celsius with a cooling capacity of 400 watts, operates with a pressure and suction pump at 0.35 bar, filters via a stainless steel mesh filter and runs on the natural refrigerant R290. The vertical cooler, featuring three cooling coils, makes efficient use of its 1,500 cm² cooling surface area.

Automated control system as in the flagship model

Despite being an entry-level model, the drive unit incorporates the same technology as the auto-pro model: a TFT colour graphic display, an integrated vacuum controller with automatic regulation of vacuum and cooling water flow, and automatic boiling point detection. An individually adjustable cleaning cycle for the vacuum controller reduces the maintenance interval and extends the system’s service life. The speed ranges from 5 to 300 revolutions per minute; USB and RS-232 interfaces are available for remote control via labworldsoft and for firmware updates.

Of the six RV-10 variants, the Starter Solution is the only one that comes with a pump and recirculating cooler included in the set. The auto-pro-V variant, on the other hand, comes with the more powerful VACSTAR digital without its own cooler, whilst the digital range comes without a pump at all. Warranty and procurement service

The IKA manufacturer’s warranty applies to the drive unit and the heating bath: 2 years, extended to 5 years upon registration at ika.com/register within 90 days of purchase. The IKA warranty at level 2+1 applies to the VACSTAR lite and RC 2 lite peripheral devices included in the set; upon registration, this is 3 years instead of 5. For replacement glassware, a more powerful pump or an additional cooler, LT Laborhandel’s procurement service will put together the appropriate package.
