The IKA RV 10 digital V (MPN 0010004799) is the logical evolution of the tried-and-tested RV 10 series. As a digital upgrade to the basic model, this complete rotary evaporator package offers not only the highest precision but also cutting-edge interfaces for the modern Laboratory 4.0. Equipped with the vertical glass set (V), this system is the ideal all-rounder for standard distillations, reflux applications and drying processes in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Intelligent technology for reproducible results

Unlike analogue devices, the RV 10 digital features an easy-to-read display that provides information on the heating bath temperature, rotational speed and timer function at all times. This enables precise reproducibility of your experiments. A particular highlight is the RS 232 interface: it allows remote control of the unit as well as comprehensive documentation of all process parameters via the labworldsoft laboratory software ®. In addition, the drive unit communicates directly with the heating bath via an infrared interface, enabling intelligent power control.

Safety without compromise

When working with solvents and heat, safety is paramount. The RV 10 digital sets new standards in this regard. The motorised lift features an integrated ‘Safety-Stop’ function: in the event of a power cut, the evaporator piston automatically retracts from the hot bath. This reliably prevents the medium from overheating or the sample from ‘boiling dry’. The universal heating bath (water/oil) heats up to 180 °C and is equipped with dry-run protection and an adjustable safety temperature circuit. Ergonomic carrying handles on the bath also ensure safe handling when filling or emptying, and the lockable bath base prevents accidental slipping.

User-friendliness and durability

During development, IKA placed particular emphasis on usability. The timer function enables time-controlled processes, ideal for routine tasks. The patented release mechanism significantly simplifies the replacement of the evaporating flask: even flasks that are firmly stuck can be released safely and with minimal effort, minimising the risk of glass breakage. The RV 10.1 vertical condenser included in the set is extremely space-saving and efficient. With a cooling surface area of 1,500 cm², it ensures high condensation rates. The coated versions (available as an option) offer additional protection against splintering.

Soft start and intermittent operation

The motor’s soft start prevents the medium from spilling over at start-up, even at high fill levels. For difficult-to-handle media, the RV 10 digital offers intermittent operation (right-left cycle), which improves mixing and can speed up the drying process. The unit also automatically detects the lift’s end stop and can be individually adjusted to suit your glassware.
