Memmert Peltier-cooled incubator IPP1060eco, 1,060 l, 0 to +70 °C, SingleDISPLAY

The Memmert Peltier-cooled incubator IPP1060eco has an interior volume of 1,060 litres whilst being the same width and height as the smaller IPP750eco; however, the housing is 250 mm deeper. Heating and cooling are provided in the setting temperature range of 0 to +70 °C via a Peltier element integrated in the rear wall, without a compressor or refrigerant. The ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY shows all values on a TFT colour graphic display and regulates via a digital PID microprocessor controller.

Spacious interior, door and load capacity

The IPP1060eco also features inner glass doors behind the fully insulated stainless steel doors with 2-point locking (compression door lock). Two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are fitted as standard, with space for up to 14 shelves in total. The total load capacity is 200 kilograms; however, the load per shelf is 20 kilograms, which is lower than that of the IPP750eco at 30 kilograms per shelf. Therefore, those carrying heavier individual loads per shelf will benefit from the smaller model. Reinforced grid shelves with a load capacity of up to 60 kilograms are available as an option. The net weight is 248 kilograms; the unit is mounted on castors and can be moved and locked in place.

Control and process reliability

A Pt100 sensor of DIN class A measures using 4-wire technology with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the setpoint temperature has been reached; the digital countdown timer covers a range from 1 minute to 99 days. Electronic temperature monitoring and the mechanical temperature limiter TB provide additional safeguards, whilst a self-diagnostic system assists with fault-finding. The data logger stores the program sequence even in the event of a power failure and can be read out via Ethernet. In addition to CE marking, the device also carries EAC marking; the user interface is available in nine languages.

The switch from 750 to 1,060 litres

Anyone who regularly reaches the capacity limit of the IPP750eco, but does not require heavier individual loads per shelf, will gain a good 40 % more volume with the IPP1060eco, which has the same 1,224 mm width as the IPP750eco and a depth of 1,005 mm instead of 755 mm. If that is still not enough, the IPP1400eco follows in the series, featuring a double-leaf door and four standard shelves instead of two. The TwinDISPLAY variant with redundant sensor technology is also available as a 1,060-litre model.

With a capacity of 1,060 litres, the IPP1060eco covers the core applications of the series for larger sample batches:

• Microbiological examinations and germ count determination with higher sample throughput
• Cultivation of samples at temperatures above and below room temperature
• Forced ageing tests for beer stability
• Shelf-life tests on dairy products
