The RV 10 auto pro FLEX features the full range of automation technology from the auto-pro range, including a TFT colour display, an integrated vacuum controller and the VACSTAR digital vacuum pump, but deliberately does not include a fixed set of glassware. Businesses that already have suitable evaporating and collection flasks, or wish to put together their own glass configuration, can thus avoid having to purchase duplicate glassware. As with the other RV-10 models, the heating bath is built-in, meaning that distillation can begin immediately once your own glassware has been fitted.
Automation without fixed glassware specifications
The integrated vacuum controller automatically regulates the vacuum and the cooling water flow rate and measures with an accuracy of ±1 mbar; a solvent library with 40 entries supports automatic boiling point detection, regardless of which glassware combination is fitted to the unit. Up to ten procedures can be programmed and recalled for batch processing. The rotational speed ranges from 5 to 300 revolutions per minute; for target speeds below 100 rpm, the unit maintains a tolerance of ±1 rpm, and above that, ±1 %.
Vacuum pump included, glassware as required
The VACSTAR digital vacuum pump is included as part of the scope of delivery, along with two vacuum hoses (0.55 metres each), two cooling water hoses (1 metre each) and a USB cable. For the glass side, the RV-10 accessories list includes both vertical and diagonal glass sets in uncoated and coated versions, allowing the configuration to be tailored precisely to your own samples. When connected to the mains at 100 to 240 volts, the drive unit consumes just 100 watts; in standby mode, power consumption drops to 3.3 watts. The separate heating power of the heating bath is 1,350 watts, with a setting accuracy of 1 Kelvin and a maximum capacity of 4 litres.

Warranty and procurement service
Rotary evaporators and heating baths are covered by the IKA manufacturer’s warranty: 2 years, extended to 5 years upon registration at ika.com/register within 90 days of purchase. The VACSTAR digital vacuum pump included in the package is covered by the IKA 2+1 warranty; upon registration, this is 3 years instead of 5. For the appropriate glassware combination for the FLEX drive, our procurement service will put together a set comprising an evaporating flask, a receiving flask and a condenser, each available in either uncoated or coated versions.
Matching accessories
Compact safety heating bath for the RV 3 series The IKA HB eco (0020016337) is a compact, ergonomic safety heating bath with a capacity of 4 litres and heating temperatures from room temperature up to 99 °C. According to IKA, it is intended for rotary evaporators of the RV 3 series (RV 3 V, RV 3 V-C, RV 3 FLEX, RV 3 pro V-C Complete and RV 3 V Starter Solution). Ergonomic carrying handles, an alternating setpoint and actual temperature display (LED), heating temperature adjustment by rotary knob and a USB interface (Micro-USB) are part of the equipment. Heating, control and safety The heating power is 1,400 W, and the setpoint temperature can be set to within 1 K. For 3 l of water at 90 °C, IKA specifies a controller fluctuation of ±1 K and an absolute deviation from the mean of ±2 K.
