Product information "IKA RV 10 digital V rotary evaporator, vertical condenser, HB 10 heating bath, up to 280 rpm, 0010004799"
The RV 10 digital V is part of the digital range within the IKA RV 10 series and comes complete with a full set of uncoated vertical glassware. Unlike the auto-pro models, this unit controls the speed and heating bath via a classic 7-segment display, without a colour screen or an integrated vacuum controller. For a laboratory carrying out routine distillation procedures, this is often the more practical choice: fewer operating levels, ready for immediate use, and the complete set of glassware is already included in the box. The vertical condenser makes efficient use of its 1,500 cm² cooling surface via a specially developed glass guide, whilst the motorised lift raises the flask out of the heating bath at the touch of a button. Anyone who already has an RV-10 system in operation can use this unit as a replacement or secondary unit without having to abandon the existing range of accessories for the series.
Operation with two safety levels
The speed can be continuously adjusted between 5 and 280 revolutions per minute; a soft start and the option to select clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation in interval mode protect viscous or sticky samples. A built-in timer handles recurring process steps, so that no one needs to stand by the unit constantly during distillation. The heating bath heats up to 180 °C with a setting accuracy of 1 Kelvin; the maximum filling volume is 4 litres. In the event of a power cut, the safety-stop function of the motorised lift automatically raises the evaporator flask out of the hot bath. Individually adjustable safety temperature circuits, dry-run protection and adjustable limit position detection complement the protection against glass breakage.
Cooling, interface and connected load specifications
The vertical condenser, with a cooling surface area of 1,500 cm², is matched to the volume of the heating bath, ensuring that little solvent escapes even during rapid evaporation. An RS-232 interface connects the unit to the IKA labworldsoft software; the heating bath itself is controlled via infrared from the control unit. The unit operates on a mains supply of 220 to 240 volts with a power consumption of 1,400 watts. For other mains voltages, IKA also supplies the same model in versions rated at 115 V, 100 to 240 V, 100 to 120 V and 100 to 115 V. This allows the unit to be operated at locations outside the European 230 V mains supply, such as in branch offices or mobile laboratories.
Typical applications
- Solvent recovery following extractions in the synthesis laboratory
- Concentration of samples prior to further analysis
- Recurring distillation routines using fixed glassware, with no changeover time
- Training and education, where ease of use without menu levels is key
Selection guide: the RV-10 family at a glance
We offer a choice of six RV-10 variants. The ‘digital’ range, to which this product belongs alongside the V-C and FLEX models, covers the classic, manually operated equipment, whilst the ‘auto’ range adds a TFT colour display and an integrated vacuum controller.
| Model | Glass configuration | Speed range | Operation | Pump |
| RV 10 digital V (this product) | Uncoated vertical glass set | 5 to 280 rpm | 7-segment display, manual | without pump |
| RV 10 digital V-C | Coated vertical glass set | 5 to 280 rpm | 7-segment display, manual | without pump |
| RV 10 digital FLEX | without glass set | 5 to 280 rpm | 7-segment display, manual | without pump |
| RV 10 auto pro V | Vertical glass set, uncoated | 5 to 300 rpm | TFT colour display, integrated vacuum controller | VACSTAR digital included |
| RV 10 auto pro FLEX | without glass set | 5 to 300 rpm | TFT colour display, integrated vacuum controller | VACSTAR digital included |
| RV 10 auto V Starter Solution | Uncoated vertical glass set | 5 to 300 rpm | TFT colour display, integrated vacuum controller | VACSTAR lite and RC 2 lite recirculating chiller included |
For those distilling smaller sample volumes, the RV 3 and RV 8 offer more compact alternatives from the same IKA product range.
