According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the RV 3 pro V-C Complete is the entry-level model in the IKA range of rotary evaporators and is supplied as a complete set: The drive unit, HB eco heating bath, VACSTAR digital vacuum pump with VC 10 lite vacuum controller and RC 2 lite recirculating cooler are all included in a single order item. The heating bath reaches up to 99 degrees Celsius, which covers the solvents commonly used in everyday laboratory work and is not intended for high-temperature applications. Anyone wishing to set up their first distillation station without having to purchase a pump and cooler separately will find this to be the most compact model in the RV-pro-Complete series.

Manual operation, digitally controlled peripherals

The lift is operated manually, with a stroke of 150 millimetres. The speed ranges from 20 to 300 revolutions per minute, with a tolerance of ±1 rpm below and ±1 per cent above 100 rpm. The VACSTAR digital vacuum pump achieves a minimum vacuum of 2 millibars and is controlled via the supplied VC 10 lite vacuum controller, which accepts setpoints manually or via a programme and also controls the recirculating cooler.

Glass assembly and cooling circuit

The coated RV 10.10 vertical glass assembly utilises a cooling surface area of 1,500 square centimetres via a specially developed glass guide. The RC 2 lite recirculating chiller cools to minus 10 degrees Celsius with a cooling capacity of 400 watts, operates with a pressure and suction pump at 0.35 bar, filters via a stainless steel mesh filter and runs on the natural refrigerant R290.

Warranty and procurement service

The IKA manufacturer’s warranty applies to the drive unit and the heating bath: 2 years, extended to 5 years upon registration at ika.com/register within 90 days of purchase. For the VACSTAR digital vacuum pump, VC 10 lite vacuum controller and RC 2 lite recirculating cooler, the 2+1 warranty level applies; upon registration, this means 3 years instead of 5.
