Memmert Incubator IN160m, 161 l, +20 to +80 °C, SingleDISPLAY

With 161 litres, the Memmert Incubator IN160m forms the middle of the IN-m series. As a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it is used for the warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy, two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, and up to eight shelves fit.

ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY

The PID microprocessor controller works adaptively and in a multifunctional way, and the values are shown on a high-resolution TFT colour graphic display. Measurement is made with a Pt100 sensor of DIN class A using 4-wire technology, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C.

Time control and calibration

The digital countdown timer can be programmed from 1 minute to 99 days. SetpointWAIT ensures that the process time only starts to run once the setpoint temperature has been reached, and three temperature values can be freely calibrated.

Safety and diagnostics

Around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating from the mains, and an adjustable electronic temperature monitoring system supplements this protection. Faults are found by a self-diagnosis system.

Ventilation and logging

An electronically adjustable exhaust air flap admixes preheated fresh air into the natural ventilation, and the exhaust air port regulates the exhaust air via an electronically adjustable throttle valve. In the event of a power failure, the program sequence remains stored, the data logger is read out via Ethernet with the time-limited trial version of AtmoCONTROL, and a USB stick with the software is available as an accessory.

Loading, dimensions and weight

The interior is made of easy-care, deep-drawn ribbed stainless steel with integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the housing is made of textured stainless steel with a fully galvanised rear panel. The fully insulated stainless steel door locks at two points with compression door seal and has an inner glass door. Internally, the IN160m measures 560 x 720 x 400 mm, externally 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm plus 56 mm door handle, it weighs around 96 kg net, and up to 210 kg total load is permitted at a maximum of 20 kg per shelf.

Connection

The IN160m runs on 230 V at approx. 1,600 W or on 115 V at approx. 900 W, each at 50/60 Hz.

Distinction from the IN160 and IN160mplus

In the same size, LT Laborhandel offers the Memmert Incubator IN160 without a medical intended purpose. The IN160mplus also has 161 litres, but is controlled via a ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY instead of SingleDISPLAY and serves a different intended purpose: warming irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media.

Selection guide: which size fits

If 108 litres are enough, the IN110m offers five shelves and 175 kg total load. For larger quantities, the IN260m with 256 litres, nine shelves and 300 kg total load follows.

As a class I medical device, the IN160m is intended exclusively for the physiotherapeutic applications named in the intended purpose.
