Memmert Incubator IN450m, 449 l, +20 to +80 °C, SingleDISPLAY

The Memmert Incubator IN450m is intended, as a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, for heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 449 litres of internal volume, it is the second-largest version of the IN-m series, and its permissible load increases to 30 kg per shelf.

Control via ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY

An adaptive PID microprocessor controller with a high-resolution TFT colour graphic display handles temperature control. Measurement is made with a Pt100 sensor of DIN class A using 4-wire technology, with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. The digital countdown timer covers 1 minute to 99 days, SetpointWAIT lets the process time begin only once the set temperature has been reached, and three temperature values can be freely calibrated.

Ventilation, safety and logging

An electronically adjustable exhaust air flap mixes pre-heated fresh air into the naturally ventilated chamber, and an electronically adjustable throttle valve is fitted at the exhaust air port. At approx. 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating from the mains, and an adjustable electronic temperature monitor and a self-diagnosis system for fault finding complete the safety technology. After a power failure, the program sequence remains stored, the data logger can be read out via Ethernet with the time-limited AtmoCONTROL trial version, and a USB stick with the software is available as an accessory.

Doors, interior and connection

The interior is made of easy-care, deep-drawn, ribbed stainless steel with integrated 4-sided all-round heating. Two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, and there is room for up to eight shelves. The fully insulated stainless steel doors have 2-point locking with a compression door seal and inner glass doors. Internally, the IN450m measures 1,040 x 720 x 600 mm and externally 1,224 x 1,247 x 784 mm plus 56 mm door handle. It weighs approx. 161 kg net and approx. 227 kg packed. It is connected at 230 V with approx. 1,800 W or at 115 V with approx. 1,500 W, in each case 50/60 Hz.

Distinction from IN450 and IN450mplus

Without a medical intended purpose, LT Laborhandel carries the Memmert Incubator IN450. The IN450mplus also holds 449 litres, but is controlled via a ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY instead of SingleDISPLAY and serves a different intended purpose: the tempering of irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media.

Selection guide: which size fits

The smaller IN260m has 256 litres and, with nine shelves, one more than the IN450m, but only 20 instead of 30 kg permissible load per shelf. The larger IN750m offers 749 litres and up to 14 shelves, also with a total load of 300 kg.
