Memmert Universal Oven UN160plus, 161 l, +20 to +300 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert Universal Oven UN160plus offers 161 litres of internal volume and, with all eight shelves fitted, takes considerably more load than the smaller sizes of the UN-plus series. It is heated by natural convection without an air turbine, and the setting temperature range extends from +20 to +300 °C. The net weight is around 96 kg.

Interior and loading

The internal dimensions are 560 x 720 x 400 mm and the external dimensions 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm plus 56 mm for the door handle. Two electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are part of the standard equipment, and up to eight can be fitted in total. The total load must not exceed 210 kg, and a maximum of 20 kg is permitted per shelf.

Two sensors, two displays

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A monitor each other in 4-wire measurement and automatically take over the function of the other in case of failure. Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT with two high-resolution TFT colour graphic displays. The setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a set temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C. A digital countdown timer covers target times from 1 minute to 99 days, and SetpointWAIT starts the process time only after the set temperature has been reached. Programs are created, managed and transferred via Ethernet or USB using AtmoCONTROL, and the program sequence is saved in the event of a power failure.

Connection and safety technology

The mains connection is 230 V at approx. 3,200 W, and 115 V at approx. 1,800 W is also available as a factory option at no extra charge. A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating approx. 20 °C above the maximum oven temperature. Optionally, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can also be selected on the display. AutoSAFETY reports overshoots or undershoots by a freely selectable offset visually and audibly, and HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group by -50 to +50 per cent.

Choosing the right size

If five shelves and a lower overall height are sufficient, the UN110plus with 108 litres is the more compact alternative, with the same footprint of 745 x 584 mm. For the UN160plus, the following can be ordered from the factory, among others: temperature throttling, a full-view glass door, interior lighting with interior socket and a virtually gas-tight interior. A roller frame and cable feed-throughs of various diameters are also available. As accessories, we supply additional grid shelves and perforated trays, a wall bracket, levelling feet, a stacking kit and licences for AtmoCONTROL or myChamber Control FDA.
