The Memmert UN55plus universal oven handles drying and heating tasks without an air turbine, by natural convection alone, and with 53 litres of interior and up to four shelves it offers more capacity than the smallest model of the series. The setting temperature range extends from +20 to +300 °C, and two DIN class A Pt100 sensors monitor each other in 4-wire measurement and automatically take over the function of the other in the event of a fault.
Safety with AutoSAFETY, heating power with HeatBALANCE
A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating at around 20 °C above the maximum oven temperature, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can also be selected. AutoSAFETY automatically follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance and reports deviations visually and audibly. The HeatBALANCE function additionally allows the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group to be adjusted from -50 to +50 per cent, and a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding.
Interior, load and connection
The interior measures 400 x 400 x 330 mm and is deep-drawn ribbed with protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the external dimensions are 585 x 784 x 514 mm plus 56 mm for the door handle. One stainless steel grid shelf is part of the standard equipment, up to four shelves are possible, and a total load of 80 kg is permitted with a maximum of 20 kg per shelf. The UN55plus is connected with 230 V at approx. 2,000 W, and 115 V at approx. 1,700 W is available as a factory option at no extra charge, in each case 50/60 Hz.
Control via the ControlCOCKPIT
The oven is controlled via the ControlCOCKPIT with two TFT colour graphic displays (TwinDISPLAY), and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C. The SetpointWAIT function starts the process time only after the setpoint temperature has been reached, and a digital countdown timer covers target times from 1 minute to 99 days. Programming and management are done via the Ethernet interface or USB port with the AtmoCONTROL software, and the programme sequence is retained in the event of a power failure.
Guide to choosing the right size
Anyone who can manage with less weight and wants to save floor space will find the more compact alternative in the UN30plus with 32 litres. If more shelves or a higher total load are needed, the UN75plus with 74 litres, six possible shelves and 120 kg permitted load offers more reserve, see the size table below.
