With 108 litres of interior and a net weight of around 74 kg, the Memmert UN110plus universal oven is the fourth of eight sizes in the UN-plus series. Heating is by natural convection alone, without an air turbine, and the setting temperature range extends from +20 to +300 °C. Two DIN class A Pt100 sensors monitor each other in 4-wire measurement and automatically take over the function of the other in the event of a fault.
Interior and load
The interior measures 560 x 480 x 400 mm and is deep-drawn ribbed with protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the external dimensions are 745 x 864 x 584 mm plus 56 mm for the door handle. Two stainless steel grid shelves are part of the standard equipment, and up to five shelves are possible. A total load of 175 kg is permitted with a maximum of 20 kg per shelf, and the housing has a fully galvanised sheet steel rear wall.
Safety technology and HeatBALANCE
A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating at around 20 °C above the maximum oven temperature, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can additionally be selected on the display. AutoSAFETY automatically follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance and reports deviations visually and audibly. With HeatBALANCE, the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group can additionally be adjusted from -50 to +50 per cent, and a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding.
Control and programming
The oven is controlled via the ControlCOCKPIT with two TFT colour graphic displays, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C. The SetpointWAIT function starts the process time only after the setpoint temperature has been reached, and a digital countdown timer covers target times from 1 minute to 99 days. The UN110plus is connected with 230 V at approx. 2,800 W, 115 V at approx. 1,800 W is available as a factory option at no extra charge, and programming is via the Ethernet interface or USB port with the AtmoCONTROL software.
Guide to choosing the right size
Anyone who can manage with less volume and up to 120 kg total load will find the more compact model in the UN75plus with 74 litres, which, because of its taller interior, even accommodates up to six shelves. For more capacity with larger batches, the UN160plus with 161 litres, up to eight shelves and 210 kg permitted total load offers more reserve, see the size table below.
