Up to six shelves can be loaded at the same time, and two stainless steel grid shelves are already part of the scope of delivery. Heating is by natural convection only, without an air turbine, and the setting temperature range extends from +20 to +300 °C.Two sensors, one control conceptTwo DIN class A Pt100 sensors work in 4-wire measurement and monitor each other, and if one fails, the second automatically takes over its function. The Memmert UN75pa paraffin cabinet is not a universal oven, but a dedicated unit for sample preparation in pathology: 74 litres’ internal volume, a temperature range limited to +20 to +80 °C, and an internal chamber that is virtually gas-tight as standard. Unlike the UN75, the UN75pa comes as standard with TwinDISPLAY, featuring two redundant Pt100 sensors, HeatBALANCE and AutoSAFETY. The unit operates using natural convection and has no air turbine. For sections being prepared for microscopy, this ensures reliably constant temperatures without any air movement inside the chamber.Restricted temperature range for paraffin applicationsThe temperature range of the UN75pa is 20 to 80 °C, which is considerably narrower than that of the UN75 (20 to 300 °C), as the paraffin embedding does not require higher temperatures. When cultures or reagents need to be kept at a constant cool temperature overnight without having to reserve a separate fridge in the laboratory, the Memmert IPP55 Peltier cooling incubator reliably takes care of this task: it maintains samples and cultures at precise temperatures between 0 and +70 °C, even well below room temperature. With an internal volume of 53 litres, the unit offers significantly more capacity than the compact IPP30 series and is therefore suitable for laboratories that regularly need to store or incubate larger quantities of samples or several parallel batches at cool temperatures. Peltier cooling instead of a compressor Instead of a conventional compressor-based cooling system, the IPP55 operates using a Peltier element integrated into the rear panel, which both cools and heats. A single system thus covers the entire setting temperature range from 0 to +70 °C, with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C. A Pt100 sensor of DIN Class A quality, measured using the 4-wire method, provides the basis for temperature control. A Peltier-powered recirculation fan forces the air inside the chamber to circulate and distributes it evenly throughout the interior. SingleDISPLAY: all values at a glance The ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY clearly displays the actual and setpoint temperatures on a TFT colour graphic display. The log data from the internal data logger can be read out and managed via the integrated Ethernet interface; a time-limited trial version of the AtmoCONTROL software is available for download for this purpose. The TwinDISPLAY variant IPP55plus is available for full programming, including a USB port and the supplied AtmoCONTROL software without the need for a separate licence. Safety, door and interior In addition to the electronic temperature control, a mechanical temperature limiter monitors operation, ensuring that a second, independent safety level remains active even in the event of a fault in the electronic control system. The fully insulated stainless steel door, featuring a two-point locking mechanism and an inner glass door, allows for visual inspection of the interior without having to open the outer door every time, thereby avoiding disruption to the internal temperature. The interior accommodates up to 4 shelves with a total load capacity of 80 kilograms and a maximum of 20 kilograms per shelf, allowing several sample series to be arranged side by side in a clear and organised manner. An electropolished stainless steel grid shelf is included as standard; additional grid shelves can be ordered as required. Dimensions and capacity With internal dimensions of 400 × 400 × 330 millimetres (depth reduced by 10 millimetres due to the built-in fan), the IPP55 offers sufficient space for several grid shelves stacked on top of one another. The external dimensions of 585 × 784 × 514 millimetres are increased by 56 millimetres due to the door handle and by a further 111 millimetres in depth due to the Peltier rear panel, which must be taken into account when planning the layout in the laboratory. With a connected load of around 275 watts (230 V or 115 V, 50/60 Hz) and a net weight of approximately 52 kilograms, the unit sits between the compact IPP30 series and the large-volume IPP110eco model, whilst remaining easy to handle for transport into an existing laboratory with a gross weight of around 71 kilograms. Data logging for documentation and quality assurance Via the Ethernet interface, the internal data logger continuously records the temperature history, enabling cooling incubations to be traced and documented retrospectively, for example for internal quality assurance records or laboratory accreditations. With an internal volume of 53 litres and the TwinDISPLAY feature, the unit is designed for applications with higher demands on redundancy, documentation and process reliability than the SingleDISPLAY base version IPP55, for example, where cooling and incubation processes must be verifiable and documented without gaps at a later stage. TwinDISPLAY: dual sensor system for greater reliability Two Pt100 sensors of DIN Class A quality, measured using the 4-wire method, monitor each other's temperature readings in the IPP55plus. If one of the two sensors fails, the second automatically takes over its function without interrupting ongoing operation. In addition, the upper and lower Peltier elements can be controlled separately, allowing cooling and heating output to be distributed more precisely within the chamber than with a single Peltier circuit. One electropolished stainless steel grid shelf is supplied as standard, and up to four shelves are possible.Control and sensorsThe temperature is controlled by the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY: an adaptive, multifunctional PID microprocessor controller with a high-resolution digital TFT colour graphic display. Measurement is via a Pt100 sensor of DIN class A in 4-wire technology, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. The digital countdown timer with target time display can be set from 1 minute to 99 days, and SetpointWAIT ensures that the process time begins to run only after the set temperature has been reached.
