Memmert Incubator IF160m, 161 l, +20 to +80 °C, SingleDISPLAY

The Memmert Incubator Im IF160m increases the internal height compared with the IF110m from 480 to 720 mm and thus reaches 161 litres internal volume with the same internal width of 560 mm. As a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it is used for the warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. The additional height creates space for up to eight shelves, and two grid shelves are included as standard.

Chamber and loading

Internally the cabinet measures 560 x 720 x 400 mm, externally 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm, with a net weight of around 96 kg. The easy-care, deep-drawn ribbed stainless steel interior has protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the fully insulated stainless steel door with 2-point locking sits in front of an inner glass door. A total load of 210 kg is permitted at 20 kg per shelf.

Operation via ControlCOCKPIT

Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY, an adaptive PID microprocessor controller with TFT colour graphic display. A Pt100 sensor of DIN class A measures using 4-wire technology, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. The circulation fan motor speed, exhaust air flap position and time zone can also be set. The digital countdown timer ranges from 1 minute to 99 days, SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the setpoint temperature has been reached, and three temperature values can be freely calibrated.

Air circulation and safety

The electronically controllable air turbine runs quietly in 10 per cent steps, an adjustable exhaust air flap admixes preheated fresh air, and the exhaust air port with throttle valve discharges it again. A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 switches off at around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, and a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding.

Distinction from IN-m and IF-mplus

With the same chamber size and the same intended purpose, but without forced air circulation, the IN160m is available. The IF160mplus shares the 161 litres, but has a different intended purpose (warming of irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media) and a TwinDISPLAY with two displays.

Selection guide: suitable size

For smaller quantities, the IF110m with 108 litres and five shelves is sufficient. Those who regularly warm larger batches will find the next step in the IF260m with 256 litres, an internal width of 640 mm and 300 kg permissible total load.

For the IF160m, the 115 V voltage variant, extended over-temperature protection and temperature limiting to fixed values between +50 °C and +75 °C, among others, can be selected as factory options when ordering.
