Memmert Incubator IF260mplus, 256 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

With 256 litres and up to nine shelves, the Memmert Incubator Im IF260mplus is the largest model in the IF-mplus series without castors. Its intended purpose as a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 covers the tempering of irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media. Two stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard.

Redundant temperature measurement

If one of the two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A fails, the second one automatically takes over its function, and both measure using 4-wire technology. The setting temperature range is +20 to +80 °C, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. Two TFT colour graphic displays of the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY show the values, and HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group in the range of -50 to +50 percent.

Programs and logging

Programs can be created and transferred with AtmoCONTROL via Ethernet or USB, and the program sequence remains stored in the event of a power failure. SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the set temperature has been reached, and three values can be freely calibrated.

Limit values and sterilisation

A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 switches the heating off at approx. 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. In addition, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be set on the display. A self-diagnosis system assists with fault finding. A permanently installed sterilisation program (4 h at 160 °C) is used for sterilising the interior; it is not intended for sterilising load items.

AutoSAFETY alarm function

AutoSAFETY monitors exceedances and shortfalls of the set value within a freely adjustable range. In the event of a deviation, the device signals visually and audibly, and if the value is exceeded, the heating switches off.

Dimensions, weight and connection

Internally, the IF260mplus measures 640 x 800 x 500 mm and externally 824 x 1,183 x 684 mm, with a net weight of approx. 110 kg. A fully insulated stainless steel door with 2-point locking and an inner glass door close the chamber, and the stainless steel interior is deep-drawn, ribbed and heated all round. The device is operated at 230 V with approx. 1,700 W or at 115 V with approx. 900 W, and a total load of 300 kg is permitted at 20 kg per shelf.

Technical differences from IF260m and IF260plus

The IF260m is controlled via a SingleDISPLAY with only one Pt100 sensor and without HeatBALANCE, and its intended purpose is different: heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. The laboratory incubator IF260plus is also equipped with TwinDISPLAY, but has no medical intended purpose.

Smaller and larger alternative

The smaller IF160mplus offers 161 litres with eight shelves. The larger IF450mplus offers 449 litres, stands mobile on castors and allows 30 instead of 20 kg per shelf.
