Memmert Incubator IF450mplus, 449 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

From 449 litres, the mplus series changes to the mobile design: The Memmert Incubator Im IF450mplus stands on castors and has room for up to eight shelves. As a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it is intended for the tempering of irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media, and two stainless steel grid shelves are part of the scope of delivery.

TwinDISPLAY with two sensors

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A monitor each other using 4-wire measurement and, in the event of a fault, automatically take over the function of the other. The setting temperature range extends from +20 to +80 °C, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. Control is provided by the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY, and HeatBALANCE distributes the heating power between the upper and lower heating group in the range of -50 to +50 percent.

AtmoCONTROL and time functions

AtmoCONTROL transfers programs via Ethernet or USB, and the program sequence remains stored in the event of a power failure. SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the set temperature has been reached, and three values can be freely calibrated.

Doors and alarm

Fully insulated stainless steel doors with 2-point locking and inner glass doors close the chamber. A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 switches the heating off at approximately 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can additionally be selected on the display. AutoSAFETY automatically follows the set value within a freely selectable range, raises a visual and audible alarm in the event of a deviation and switches the heating off if the value is exceeded. The permanently installed sterilisation program (4 h at 160 °C) is used for sterilising the interior and is not intended for sterilising load items.

Mobile housing and connection

The housing stands mobile and lockable on castors, and the stainless steel interior is deep-drawn, ribbed and heated all round. The IF450mplus is connected at 230 V with approx. 1,800 W or at 115 V with approx. 1,500 W. Internally, the cabinet measures 1,040 x 720 x 600 mm and externally 1,224 x 1,247 x 784 mm, with a net weight of approx. 161 kg, and a total load of 300 kg is permitted at 30 kg per shelf.

Comparison with IF450m and IF450plus

With SingleDISPLAY, one Pt100 sensor and without HeatBALANCE, we carry the IF450m, also a Class I medical device, but with a different intended purpose: heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. Without a medical intended purpose and technically equipped with TwinDISPLAY, the laboratory incubator IF450plus is also available.

Choosing the chamber size

The smaller IF260mplus offers 256 litres, but is fixed and not mobile. The larger IF750mplus offers 749 litres and up to 14 shelves, also mobile on castors.
