Memmert Incubator IF75mplus, 74 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert Incubator Im IF75mplus is a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 and is used for warming irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media. With 74 litres internal volume, it takes up to six shelves, one more than the larger IF110mplus. Two stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard.

TwinDISPLAY, HeatBALANCE and AtmoCONTROL

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A monitor each other in 4-wire measurement and, in the event of a fault, automatically take over the function of the other. The setting temperature range extends from +20 to +80 °C with a setting accuracy of 0.1 °C, and the working temperature range starts at least 10 °C above room temperature. Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY, and the HeatBALANCE function shifts the heating power between the upper and lower heating group by up to 50 per cent in each direction. Programs can be created and transferred via Ethernet or USB with AtmoCONTROL, and the sequence is stored in the event of a power failure. SetpointWAIT delays the start of the process time until the setpoint temperature has been reached, and three temperature values can be freely calibrated.

Safety equipment

A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 switches the heating off at about 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. Optionally, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be set on the display. AutoSAFETY monitors overshoots and undershoots of the setpoint at a freely selectable distance, raises a visual and audible alarm, and switches the heating off in the event of an overshoot. A self-diagnosis system makes troubleshooting easier. A fully insulated stainless steel door with 2-point locking and an inner glass door close the chamber. The permanently installed sterilisation program (4 h at 160 °C) is used for sterilising the interior and is not intended for sterilising the load.

Construction, connection and dimensions

The stainless steel interior is stiffened by deep-drawn ribbing and has protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating. The electronically controllable air turbine is adjustable in 10 % steps, and the exhaust air flap admixes preheated fresh air. The IF75mplus runs on 230 V at approx. 1,250 W or on 115 V at approx. 900 W, each 50/60 Hz. Internally the cabinet measures 400 x 560 x 330 mm, externally 585 x 944 x 514 mm, and the net weight is around 66 kg. A total load of 120 kg is permitted at 20 kg per shelf.

Distinction from the SingleDISPLAY variant and the laboratory device

The IF75m is available as a SingleDISPLAY version with one instead of two Pt100 sensors and without HeatBALANCE, also a class I medical device, but with a different intended purpose: warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. Without a medical intended purpose, but with TwinDISPLAY and the same chamber size, we also carry the laboratory incubator IF75plus.

Selection guide: volume or shelves

The next smaller IF55mplus offers 53 litres and up to four shelves. With the next larger IF110mplus, the volume grows to 108 litres, but the maximum number of shelves drops to five due to the different interior geometry. Those who need six shelves get them with the IF75mplus on a smaller footprint (585 x 514 mm instead of 745 x 584 mm width x depth for the IF110mplus).
