Memmert Incubator IN110mplus, 108 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

With 108 litres, the Memmert Incubator IN110mplus lies in the IN-mplus series between the IN75mplus and the IN160mplus. As a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it warms irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media, and up to 175 kg total load is permitted with two grid shelves as standard.

Safety technology

A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating from the mains at around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. In addition, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be selected on the display. AutoSAFETY automatically follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance, reports deviations visually and audibly, and switches the heating off in the event of an overshoot. A self-diagnosis system supports fault finding, and a permanently installed program with 4 hours at 160 °C is available for sterilising the interior, not intended for the load.

Two sensors, one control loop

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A work in 4-wire measurement and monitor each other; if one fails, the second automatically takes over its function. Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with an adaptive PID microprocessor controller and two TFT colour graphic displays. The setpoint temperature can be set between +20 and +80 °C, the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C, and the working temperature range starts at least 5 °C above room temperature.

Functions and programming

HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group in the range from -50 to +50 per cent, and SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the setpoint temperature has been reached. Three temperature values can be freely calibrated, and the program sequence remains stored in the event of a power failure. Via an Ethernet interface or a USB port, the AtmoCONTROL software creates, manages and transfers programs.

Construction, loading and connection

The interior is made of easy-care, deep-drawn ribbed stainless steel with integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the housing is made of textured stainless steel with a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel. Natural ventilation admixes preheated fresh air via an electronically adjustable exhaust air flap, controlled via an electronically adjustable throttle valve at the exhaust air port. Internal dimensions 560 x 480 x 400 mm, external dimensions 745 x 864 x 584 mm plus 56 mm door handle, net weight around 76 kg. Two grid shelves are included as standard, and up to five shelves are possible at a maximum of 20 kg per shelf and 175 kg total load. Connection is made with 230 V (approx. 1,400 W) or 115 V (approx. 900 W), each 50/60 Hz.

The IN110m compared

The equally sized IN110m is also a class I medical device, but its intended purpose is the warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. It is controlled via a SingleDISPLAY with a single Pt100 sensor, while the IN110mplus comes with two displays and two mutually monitoring sensors.

Selection guide

The smaller Memmert Incubator IN75mplus holds 74 litres and, despite the smaller volume, takes up to six instead of five shelves, at 120 instead of 175 kg total load. More volume is offered by the IN160mplus with 161 litres, up to eight shelves and 210 kg total load.
