Memmert Incubator IN260mplus, 256 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

256 litres internal volume and up to nine shelves already bring the Memmert Incubator IN260mplus to the maximum total load of the series of 300 kg. As a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it warms irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media.

ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY

An adaptive PID microprocessor controller with two TFT colour graphic displays controls the temperature, and two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A measure using 4-wire technology and monitor each other: if one fails, the other automatically takes over its function. The setpoint temperature can be set between +20 and +80 °C, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C.

Ventilation

Natural ventilation admixes preheated fresh air via an electronically adjustable exhaust air flap, and the exhaust air port has an electronically controllable throttle valve.

Safety and sterilisation

At around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating from the mains. Additionally selectable on the display: an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2. AutoSAFETY monitors the setpoint at a freely selectable distance, reports deviations visually and audibly, and switches the heating off in the event of an overshoot, and a self-diagnosis system supports fault finding. A permanently installed program with 4 hours at 160 °C is available for sterilising the interior, not the load.

Functions and programming

HeatBALANCE shifts the heating power between the upper and lower heating group by -50 to +50 per cent, and SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the setpoint temperature has been reached. Three temperature values can be freely calibrated, the program sequence remains stored in the event of a power failure, and the AtmoCONTROL software creates, manages and transfers programs via Ethernet or USB.

Loading, dimensions and connection

The interior is made of easy-care, deep-drawn ribbed stainless steel with 4-sided all-round heating, and the housing is made of textured stainless steel with a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel. Two grid shelves are included as standard, and up to nine shelves fit at a maximum of 20 kg per shelf and 300 kg total load. Internal dimensions 640 x 800 x 500 mm, external dimensions 824 x 1,183 x 684 mm plus 56 mm door handle, net weight around 110 kg. Connection is made with 230 V (approx. 1,700 W) or 115 V (approx. 900 W), each 50/60 Hz.

The IN260m compared

The equally sized IN260m is also a class I medical device, but is used for the warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy and thus has a different intended purpose. It is controlled via a SingleDISPLAY with one Pt100 sensor instead of the two displays and redundant sensors of the IN260mplus.

Selection guide

The smaller Memmert Incubator IN160mplus holds 161 litres at 210 kg total load and up to eight shelves. For larger quantities, the IN450mplus with 449 litres follows: the total load remains at 300 kg, but up to 30 instead of 20 kg per shelf is permitted there.
