Memmert Incubator IN75mplus, 74 l, +20 to +80 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert Incubator IN75mplus takes up to six shelves, one more than the larger IN110mplus. As a class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, it warms irrigation and infusion solutions and contrast media, and with 74 litres internal volume, two grid shelves are included as standard.

Two sensors for redundancy

Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A measure using 4-wire technology and monitor each other; if one fails, the second automatically takes over its function. Control is handled by the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY, an adaptive PID microprocessor controller with two TFT colour graphic displays. The setpoint temperature can be set between +20 and +80 °C, the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C, and the working temperature range starts at least 5 °C above room temperature.

Multi-stage safety technology

A mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating from the mains at about 20 °C above the highest permissible cabinet temperature. In addition, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be activated on the display. The AutoSAFETY function automatically follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance, reports deviations visually and audibly, and disconnects the heating when exceeded. A self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding, and a permanently installed program with 4 hours at 160 °C is used for sterilising the interior, not the load.

Loading, dimensions and connection

The interior is made of easy-care, deep-drawn ribbed stainless steel with integrated 4-sided all-round heating, and the housing is made of textured stainless steel with a fully galvanised rear panel. Natural ventilation admixes preheated fresh air via an electronically adjustable exhaust air flap, and the exhaust air port regulates the exhaust air via an electronically adjustable throttle valve. Internal dimensions 400 x 560 x 330 mm, external dimensions 585 x 944 x 514 mm plus 56 mm door handle, net weight around 66 kg. Up to six shelves are possible at a maximum of 20 kg per shelf and 120 kg total load, and connection is made with 230 V (approx. 1,250 W) or 115 V (approx. 900 W), each 50/60 Hz.

The IN75m compared

The equally sized IN75m is also a class I medical device, but its intended purpose is the warming and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. Instead of two displays and redundant sensors, it has only a SingleDISPLAY with one Pt100 sensor.

Selection guide

Smaller is the Memmert Incubator IN55mplus with 53 litres, four shelves and 80 kg total load. With the IN110mplus with 108 litres, the total load grows to 175 kg, but the number of shelves drops to five, because it does not rise consistently with volume across the series.
