With an internal height of 720 mm and 161 litres of internal volume, the Memmert universal oven UN160m takes up to eight shelves, and two stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard. As a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, the unit is used for the heating and keeping warm of fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy.
Control technology
The adaptive PID microprocessor controller of the ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY shows values on a high-resolution TFT colour graphic display. Temperature measurement is provided by a Pt100 sensor of DIN class A using 4-wire technology, and three freely selectable temperature values can be calibrated. The target time function of the digital countdown timer covers a range from 1 minute to 99 days, and with SetpointWAIT the process time only begins once the setpoint temperature has been reached.
Safety
Around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, the mechanical temperature limiter TB (protection class 1 according to DIN 12880) takes effect and switches off the heating. In addition, there is an adjustable electronic temperature monitor and a self-diagnosis system for fault finding. The interior is made of easy-care stainless steel stiffened by deep-drawn ribbing, with protected, integrated 4-sided all-round heating.
Loading, connection and dimensions
The permissible total load is 210 kg at 20 kg per shelf. Connection is at 230 V with approx. 3,200 W or at 115 V with approx. 1,800 W, in each case 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 560 x 720 x 400 mm and the external dimensions 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm, with a net weight of around 96 kg. Packed, the unit weighs around 122 kg with packaging dimensions of 830 x 1,300 x 800 mm.
Distinction from the laboratory oven
Without a medical intended purpose, we offer the Memmert universal oven UN160 for drying and tempering in laboratories and industry in the same chamber size. Within the medical device line, the UN160m is also available as the UN160mplus with two displays for control.
Selection guide
The next smaller UN110m offers 108 litres with five shelves and a 175 kg total load, and the next larger UN260m reaches 256 litres, nine shelves and a 300 kg total load.
