The Memmert universal oven UN160mplus is a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 with the intended purpose of heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 161 litres of internal volume, it takes up to eight shelves, two stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, and the permissible total load is 210 kg.
Process control
The ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays guides you through programming and ongoing operation, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C above that. The 4-wire measurement with two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A allows mutual checking, and if one sensor fails, measurement continues via the second. HeatBALANCE shifts the heating power between the upper and lower heating group by -50 to +50 %, and the countdown timer covers 1 minute to 99 days. Via the Ethernet interface or USB port, programs can be managed and transferred using the AtmoCONTROL software.
Safety technology
The mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating at around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can also be selected on the display. The AutoSAFETY monitoring automatically follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance and reports deviations visually and audibly, and a self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding.
Loading, connection and dimensions
The UN160mplus is connected at 230 V with approx. 3,200 W or at 115 V with approx. 1,800 W, in each case 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 560 x 720 x 400 mm and the external dimensions 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm (plus 56 mm for the door handle), with a net weight of around 96 kg. The shipping carton weighs around 122 kg gross, with dimensions of 830 x 1,300 x 800 mm.
Distinction from the laboratory oven and the SingleDISPLAY version
Without a medical intended purpose, the Memmert universal oven UN160plus with 161 litres and TwinDISPLAY is available in the same size. As a Class I medical device with SingleDISPLAY and one Pt100 sensor, there is also the UN160m.
Selection guide: the right size
The next smaller UN110mplus has 108 litres and a 175 kg total load. More volume is offered by the Memmert universal oven UN260mplus with 256 litres, nine shelves and a 300 kg total load.
