The Memmert universal oven UN55mplus is a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 with the intended purpose of heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 53 litres of internal volume, it is one size above the UN30mplus, one stainless steel grid shelf is included as standard, and up to four shelves are possible.
Control, safety and HeatBALANCE
The two Pt100 sensors work with 4-wire measurement and monitor each other, and if one fails, the second automatically takes over its function. Control is provided by the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a set temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C. HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group from -50 to +50 %. At approx. 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, the mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 disconnects the heating, and an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can additionally be selected on the display. AutoSAFETY reports deviations from the set value visually and audibly, a self-diagnosis system assists with fault finding, and three freely selectable temperature values can be calibrated.
Communication and ventilation
Programs can be managed and transferred via the Ethernet interface or USB port with the AtmoCONTROL software, and the digital countdown timer ranges from 1 minute to 99 days. Natural ventilation works without a forced air circulation fan, an electronically adjustable exhaust air flap mixes in pre-heated fresh air, and the exhaust air port has an electronically adjustable throttle valve.
Loading, connection and dimensions
A total load of 80 kg is permitted at 20 kg per shelf. The UN55mplus is connected at 230 V with approx. 2,000 W or at 115 V with approx. 1,700 W, in each case 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 400 x 400 x 330 mm and the external dimensions 585 x 784 x 514 mm (plus 56 mm for the door handle), with a net weight of approx. 57 kg.
Distinction from the laboratory oven and the SingleDISPLAY version
The laboratory unit of the same size without a medical intended purpose is the Memmert universal oven UN55plus also with 53 litres and TwinDISPLAY. In the same size, the UN55m is also available as a Class I medical device in the SingleDISPLAY version with one Pt100 sensor instead of the two mutually monitoring sensors of the UN55mplus.
Selection guide: the right size
If the volume of the UN55mplus is not sufficient, the next larger Memmert universal oven UN75mplus has 74 litres, six shelves and a total load of 120 kg. For smaller quantities, the UN30mplus with 32 litres and three shelves is the more compact alternative.
