The Memmert universal oven UN450mplus is a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 with the intended purpose of heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 449 litres of internal volume, it can be moved and locked on castors, up to eight shelves with a load of 30 kg each are possible, and the permissible total load is 300 kg.
Temperature measurement and HeatBALANCE
Temperature measurement is redundant via two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A in 4-wire technology, which monitor each other and step in for each other in the event of a fault. Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays, and the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C from 100 °C. HeatBALANCE adjusts the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group from -50 to +50 %.
Safety and programming
The mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880 switches off the heating at around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. In addition, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be selected on the display, and AutoSAFETY follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance and triggers an optical and acoustic alarm on deviation. A self-diagnosis system helps with fault finding, and programmes can be programmed, managed and transferred via the Ethernet interface or USB port using the AtmoCONTROL software.
Load, connection and dimensions
The UN450mplus is connected at 400 V and 3 x 230 V without neutral conductor at approx. 5,800 W, 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 1,040 x 720 x 600 mm, the external dimensions 1,224 x 1,247 x 784 mm (plus 56 mm for the door handle), with a net weight of around 161 kg. The shipping carton weighs around 227 kg gross, with dimensions of 1,330 x 1,440 x 1,050 mm.
Distinction from the laboratory oven and from the SingleDISPLAY version
Without a medical intended purpose, the same size is available as the Memmert universal oven UN450plus with 449 litres and TwinDISPLAY. As a Class I medical device with SingleDISPLAY and one Pt100 sensor, the UN450m is also available.
Choosing the right size
The next smaller UN260mplus has 256 litres, 300 kg total load and carries 20 instead of 30 kg per shelf. For even more volume, the Memmert universal oven UN750mplus with 749 litres and up to 14 shelves is the largest model of the series.
