The Memmert universal oven UN30mplus is a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 with the intended purpose of heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 32 litres of internal volume, it is the smallest model in the UN-mplus series, one stainless steel grid shelf is included as standard, and up to three shelves are possible.
Sensors and display
Two Pt100 sensors of DIN class A back each other up using 4-wire measurement, and in the event of a fault the other sensor automatically takes over the function. Display and control are via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays, and up to 99.9 °C the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C, above that 0.5 °C. The digital countdown timer covers a range from 1 minute to 99 days, and SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the set temperature has been reached. Programs can be programmed, managed and transferred via the Ethernet interface or USB port using the AtmoCONTROL software.
Safety in everyday use
Two temperature monitors are permanently installed: the mechanical limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, which disconnects the heating at approx. 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature, and optionally an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2, both adjustable on the display. In addition, AutoSAFETY signals visually and audibly as soon as the temperature leaves the selected range around the set value, and a self-diagnosis system helps with troubleshooting.
Loading, connection and dimensions
A total load of 60 kg is permitted at 20 kg per shelf. The UN30mplus is connected at 230 V with approx. 1,600 W or at 115 V, also with approx. 1,600 W, in each case 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 400 x 320 x 250 mm and the external dimensions 585 x 704 x 434 mm (plus 56 mm for the door handle), with a net weight of approx. 45 kg.
Distinction from the laboratory oven and the SingleDISPLAY version
The laboratory unit of the same size without a medical intended purpose is the Memmert universal oven UN30plus also with 32 litres and TwinDISPLAY. In the same size and with the same intended purpose, the UN30m is also available as a Class I medical device in the SingleDISPLAY version with one Pt100 sensor. The UN30mplus, by contrast, has the TwinDISPLAY and two Pt100 sensors that monitor each other, plus the adjustable temperature monitor or adjustable temperature limiter selectable on the display, and AutoSAFETY.
Selection guide: the right size
The UN30mplus is the smallest model in the series, and there is no smaller size. If 32 litres and three shelves are not enough, the next larger Memmert universal oven UN55mplus has 53 litres of internal volume, four shelves and a total load of 80 kg.
