Memmert universal oven UF260mplus, 256 l, +20 to +300 °C, TwinDISPLAY

The Memmert universal oven UF260mplus is a Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745. It is intended exclusively for heating and keeping warm fango, silicate and APS packs in physiotherapy. With 256 litres of internal volume and up to 9 shelves, it carries up to 300 kg in total, as do the UF750mplus and UF1060mplus.

TwinDISPLAY control at full load

The HeatBALANCE function allows the heating power distribution between the upper and lower heating group to be adjusted from -50 to +50 %. Display and operation are via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY with two TFT colour graphic displays, and the temperature itself is measured by two redundant Pt100 sensors of DIN class A in 4-wire measurement with 0.1 °C up to a setpoint temperature of 99.9 °C and 0.5 °C accuracy above that. The air turbine can be controlled in 10 % steps, and AtmoCONTROL via Ethernet or USB is used for documentation and programme transfer.

Safety and temperature monitoring

Basic protection includes a mechanical temperature limiter of protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, which switches off at around 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. In addition, an adjustable temperature monitor of protection class 3.1 or an adjustable temperature limiter of protection class 2 can be selected on the display. The additional AutoSAFETY monitoring follows the setpoint at a freely selectable distance and triggers an optical and acoustic alarm on deviation, supported by a self-diagnosis system and three freely calibratable temperature values.

Load, connection and dimensions

2 electropolished stainless steel grid shelves are included as standard, and the cabinet can be expanded to up to 9 shelves. A total load of 300 kg is permissible, at 20 kg per shelf. The connection is 230 V at approx. 3,400 W or 115 V at approx. 1,800 W, in each case 50/60 Hz. The internal dimensions are 640 x 800 x 500 mm, the external dimensions 824 x 1,183 x 684 mm, and the net weight is around 110 kg.

Distinction: physiotherapy device and laboratory oven UF260plus

The laboratory device of the same size is the Memmert universal oven UF260plus, with the same external dimensions of 824 x 1,183 x 684 mm, intended for drying, heating, tempering and testing and without a medical intended purpose. In the same size and with the same intended purpose, the Class I medical device version is the UF260m, in the SingleDISPLAY version with one Pt100 sensor. The UF260mplus, by contrast, has the TwinDISPLAY and two Pt100 sensors that monitor each other, plus the adjustable temperature monitor or adjustable temperature limiter selectable on the display and AutoSAFETY, as well as the HeatBALANCE function.

Choosing: UF260mplus or a larger model?

The next smaller Memmert universal oven UF160mplus has 161 litres, up to eight shelves and a total load of 210 kg, with external dimensions of 745 x 1,104 x 584 mm. The next larger size is the UF450mplus with 449 litres. The UF750mplus with 749 litres and up to 14 shelves stands on castors that can be moved and locked and is connected at 400 V.
